Early Childhood Education & The Creative Curriculum

At New Adventures, we believe that Early Childhood Education is the vital starting point on your child’s journey of success. Our approach to education using The Creative Curriculum focuses on shaping the way your child will develop socially, emotionally, cognitively, and physically. From 6 weeks old to 12 years old, our New Adventures family is committed to helping your child grow!

Let’s break it down to take a closer look at what children learn in each category of development.

Social/Emotional: To help children develop independence, self-confidence, self-control, follow rules and routines, make friends, and learn what it means to be part of a group.

Cognitive: To acquire thinking skills such as the ability to solve problems, ask questions, and think logically – things like sorting, classifying, comparing, counting, and making patterns – and to use material and their imagination to show what they have learned.

Physical: To increase children’s large muscle skills – balancing, running, jumping, throwing, and catching – and to use the small muscles in their hands to do tasks like buttoning, stringing beads, cutting, drawing, and writing.

The combination of structured activities, classroom organization, a daily schedule, and communication with the children enables our team to accomplish the goals of our curriculum and give your child a successful start in school. Using The Creative Curriculum reinforces early positive growth and opens the door to a lifelong love of learning!

Early Childhood Education shapes the way children grow, interact and respond to learning for the rest of their lives. At New Adventures we believe that every child should have access to a high quality education, which is why we are pushing to raise the standard of childcare in Northeast Ohio! We are proud to be a 5 Star Quality Program!

What is Step Up to Quality?

Step Up to Quality is Ohio’s Tiered Quality Rating and Improvement System for Childcare Centers!

Step Up to Quality was created by the Ohio Department of Education and the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services to rate the quality of childcare centers. One-fourth of Ohio’s population is made up of children, making it vital to monitor the quality and standards of the programs children are involved in.

Benefits

The Step Up to Quality program requires administrators and lead teachers to have higher education qualifications as well as more than 20 hours of specialized training every two years. This helps ensure that your child receives the best care!

Classrooms are required to include individualized experiences for each child. To support this, Step Up to Quality centers have lower staff to child ratios than typical childcare centers.

Performing continuous student assessments throughout the year means that it is easier to track your child’s progress and set goals that your center can help your child achieve!

New Adventures is Proud to be a Step Up to Quality Center!

We take your child’s education seriously and want to give them the best care and educational options available. We are proud to offer you and your child the peace of mind that comes with knowing we exceed the health, safety, and educational standards required by the state of Ohio!
